Vibrator Review: Hitachi Magic Wand Original (VIDEO) 2

A short while ago, my sex toy fairy godmother waved her magic wand, and there on my doorstep one day was my very own magic wand! It’s almost impossible to go on Tumblr, Twitter or a sex toy blog without reading or seeing the magic wand in action, and it was way time I got one of my own.

Now, this had been remedied I set about looking at the wand itself. My first impression from simply looking at the box was this was not a small or probably a discreet toy. I was surprised at how heavy the box was when I picked it up and began to explore a little deeper. What I was met with was a long wand-shaped item, that was heavy and attached at one end was a rather large ball-like structure whilst at the other was the mains cord that powered the wand itself. I am a female and I always read the instructions that come with a toy as they can often tell me more as a reviewer than the outside packaging ever could.

There are lots of don’ts that accompany the Hitachi magic wand original and they are worth noting as they can severely affect whether you choose to purchase this toy or not. The most important don’t for me are as follows:

The good news is none of the above applies to me, so I proceeded with my inspection. The wand itself is 12″ long and has a tapered end that is designed to be held in your hand. The power switch is conveniently located in the middle of the end and feels like a natural place to switch the wand on and off. The business end of the wand so to speak, is about 2 1/2 inches in width and is attached to the wand via a spring-like system that allows some flexibility in the head. At first, I was a little intimidated by my new wand to be honest. I’m used to smaller toys, and as this weighs in at approximately 1.2 lbs I found myself asking if it would be too heavy and bulky when in use. Of course, there was only one way to answer that question: test it.

I settled down and began to play with my new Magic Wand vibrator. As I switched it on the first thing that you notice is that this one powerful toy. I shouldn’t have been so surprised as I know that toys that run on mains juice are always more powerful than those that rely on batteries, but it still took me by surprise. There are two vibration speeds available and both are pretty darn powerful, so don’t say I didn’t warn you.

I’ll admit that I was a little concerned as too whether my new wand would be too heavy and bulky to handle when in use, what I hadn’t considered was would it be too powerful. I began by massaging other areas of my body first, as opposed to going straight for the orgasm so to speak, and the Hitachi magic wand massager is a great vibrator. I moved slowly up and down until I was relaxed and in the mood before moving onto my vulva, and I’m glad I did. It took me a while to figure out the right spot, position, and way to hold my wand, but once I did… Holy cow! This wand really did deliver some magic. What amazed me even more, was that I wanted more and unlike with many of my other vibrators, I didn’t have to allow my body time to desensitize before going in for another orgasm. This time I turned up the power to the second setting and was taken to Narnia and back in no time. On the second setting, I was too sensitive to continue, but I was satisfied by this point in time as well, I’m glad to report.

So Hubby and I tested the wand one night and the result was spectacular. I used it on him as I do myself first, by giving him a quick massage before getting down and dirty with my wand. He loved the power this delivers, as much as I did. Like many men, he likes to use vibes, but he needs a strong vibration to even feel it. There were no complaints about it or the resulting orgasm. We started on the first vibration setting and worked up to the second setting and at that point, he went into orbit.

We also tried the Hitachi Magic Wand with him in control whilst using it on me. The strange thing here was I found that I was too sensitive to take this, or the vibrations were too strong and directed in the wrong area. We solved that problem with a simple fix, I put a pair of panties on. Simply having that barrier between myself and the wand made all the difference to the experience as he welded the wand and created some magic.

This is not a toy that you can use when you are doing the horizontal tango, at least if there are only two of you. The end is just too big to place between two people, and the size and shape make it almost impossible to hold which having sex. My devious mind has wondered what it would be like to use if a third person was added into the mix. (If we ever try it I promise to amend this review.)

What’s It All Add Up To?

If you are looking for a powerful toy, that doubles as a massager this might just be the toy you. There are a few disadvantages to this toy that are worth noting. As the Hitachi Magic Wand vibrator is mains powered, it isn’t waterproof, and can and should not be used near water for obvious reasons. In case it’s not obvious, water and electricity do not mix and can result in electrocution, and that’s not a result anyone wants! This is not a quiet toy or discreet sex toy either, and if these are concerns, this not the toy for you. As a mains powered toy, you are also tethered to a power cord and the nearest outlet. If you want more freedom again this might not be the right sex toy for you.

This is a toy however if all of the above does not apply, I’m happy to recommend. It’s powerful, fun, and gets the job done, and better than that, we can both use it. It also gives a really good massage of the non-genital kind, so it is in effect a multi-use tool, that is well worth adding to your arsenal.
