Erotic Romance Author Spotlight: Jaxx Steele

Erotic Romance Author Jaxx SteeleAccording to Jaxx Steele, his writings are a combination of some things that she has learned over the years, good and bad, mixed up with a lot of imagination. He says he can only hope that you like what you read.

Jaxx was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, but  escaped and now lives in Indiana. His dream is to buy a house near the beach and write all day and make enough money to live off it. He spends most of his time working a nine to five and traveling, when he can, to new and wondrous places that he can incorporate in to his stories (or that will at least spark ideas for him). He does have love in his life thanks to his life partner, Hou, and their cat, Judo, who graciously lets them live with him in his house. So, all in all, he has a full and happy life.

Jaxx took some time to answer some questions about both himself and his writing.

1. When did you first realize you wanted to be a writer?
I was always a reader, but then one day I wanted to write. It was like an epiphany right before I turned 12. I read the romances that were around me, but as I got older I wanted to read books with men like me. The rest is history.

2. How long does it take you to write a book?
Each book is different and requires its own time to come to conclusion. I have written one in less than 30 days and one that took me 3 months because I wanted my research to be on point.

3: What does your family think of your writing?
LOL. My family thinks my writing erotic gay romance is a phase that will pass. I just celebrated 8 years as a published author and they’re still saying that.

4: Chocolate or vanilla?
CHOCOLATE!

5: Tea or Coffee?
Tea

6: What are you working on now? What is your next project?
I am putting the finishing touches on a fantasy story I call A Double Sacrifice. I’m hoping to submit it soon.

7: Are you a plotter or a pantster?
I’m a plotter. I know the beginning, the middle and the end before I even touch my computer. The characters move me from one point to the next to fill in the blanks.

8: How did you choose the genre you write in?
I read romance books when I was younger because that’s what was around me. I liked them but could never really get into them because they were hetero. I wanted to see men in the lead roles so I decided to write one.

9: Do you ever experience writer’s block? If so how do you get past it? Oh yes! Writer’s block comes for us all eventually. When it hits me I watch movies or listen to music to help take my mind to other things.

10: If you only had one word to describe yourself, what would it be and why?
I would say: Eclectic. The dictionary says eclectic is: not following any one system, but selecting and using what are considered the best elements of all systems. I think that’s me in a nutshell.

We’d like to thank Jaxx for taking the time out of her writing schedule to talk to us. Jaxx’s latest book is  entitled:
